We began working together in 2009 through contacts in Shell Group. Shell Oil Africa (Sopaf) has provided funding to Hope Worldwide for community-based care and support orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) affected by AIDS in Kenya, Botswana, and South Africa since 2007. We received two grants for a total of $300,000 in funding to provide care and support for OVC during subsequent 4 year period. These community-based programs were also funded by Coca Cola, Massmart, Rotary, MTN, AusAid, CDC, and USAID. These community care and support programs have been recognized by UNICEF and WHO as “Best Practice” models.
